When packing a box, put the large items in first, and smaller items in last. That way you will get more into the box. Although, be careful not to overload the box, or the bottom might fall out!
To prevent this, reinforce your boxes with packing tape along an seams or folds to make sure your precious goods don’t fall out and get damaged.
Fragile items also tend to be expensive items. Be sure to pad them and put them into boxes carefully. For extremely fragile items, postage boxes with bubble wrap will ensure that they are kept safe from being bumped during transit. To avoid buying expensive wrapping for one use, things like pillow cases, bedsheets, and bathmats can make for good padding material, and it saves you having to pack them separately!
Bedrooms almost always contain more stuff than you think. Manchester, linen, bedding, and towels might not be heavy, but they can take up lots of space. To get around this, we can supply you with vacuum bags for packing these items, which will allow you to compress them to a fraction of their normal size!
Put the smaller items such as display items, vases, ornaments, and magazines into boxes, being sure to label the boxes so you can find these items later.
Sofas, TV units, and armchairs can be heavy, so leave them to us!
Plates and glasses should be wrapped in old newspapers as this will prevent chips and cracks due to the bumps and jostling while in transit. Pots and pans also should be wrapped in newspaper to prevent scratches, especially on non-stick surfaces. Make sure knives and sharps are secured so our helpful moovers don’t get cut on loose knives!
A good idea is to label the cables before dismantling. This will make it easy to put it back together again at your new home. To protect modern large screen TVs, Use masking tape to stick a sheet of cardboard to the screen to protect it against scratches/scrapes. If you still have the original box for the TV, that is the ideal packing for it!
The back of a truck is no place for a pet. Pet equipment such as leashes, brushes, food bowls, and feeder units should be packed into boxes for transport, and our helpful moovers can moove it for you.
When it comes to your furry family member, we recommend you move them in your own vehicle with your family.
